Located in the serene landscapes of Eastern Pa., Trailside Aussies is committed to breeding exceptional Australian Shepherds that are not only beautiful but also healthy and well-socialized. Our passion for these intelligent and loyal companions drives us to uphold the highest standards in every aspect of our breeding program, ensuring that each puppy finds a loving home.

 All of our parents are genetically tested using Paw Prints Genetics or Embark and are cleared through OFA for hips, elbows and eyes.  We strive on producing healthy, well-tempered dogs that make perfect companions for families and individuals alike. Our commitment to quality ensures that each puppy is raised with care and attention. We guide prospective owners through the selection process, helping them find the ideal match for their lifestyle. At Trailside Aussies, we prioritize the well-being of our dogs and provide ongoing support to our clients, ensuring a fulfilling experience for both the pet and the owner.

ABOUT US

I was first introduced to Aussies by chance about 28 years ago. While at a flea market I saw these cute little puppies that looked like brown bear cubs. I had to inquire about them out of curiosity. When I questioned the sellers they put one in my arms and said “they are Australian Shepherds.” I was instantly in love and welcomed Timber into my home. Knowing nothing about the breed I quickly did my research and learned all I could. Was I being young and dumb or was it fate? Timber taught me everything I needed to know about Aussies and was a very loyal companion. Sadly, Timber only lived to be 10.

Feeling the loss of Timber I knew that it wouldn’t be long before I would look for another Australian Shepherd. My son was looking at Petfinder and told me he found the perfect dog. It was an AustralianShepherd/Collie mix. She was 3 months old, had already been spayed and was in a high kill shelter with a date for euthanasia. I was going through a difficult time in my life and our home felt empty without a dog, so I inquired and we brought Maddie into our lives. Her personality was all Aussie! After a few days with us she became extremely ill and close to death. Many days and many dollars later she came home from the Vet and thrived until almost 15! She was my “Soul Dog.” We did everything together! She introduced me to trail running and was my best friend and faithful trail buddy. I felt it was only fitting to honor her memory with the name Trailside Aussies.

Having gone through these experiences with Timber and Maddie really opened my eyes up to the importance of proper research on the purchase of a dog, breeding, health testing, pedigrees and bloodlines. We now have a house filled with 3 loving Aussies that came from reputable breeders and we are excited about the future of Trailside Aussies.

We’ve taken all of our dog life experiences, combined them with many hours of research and learning, and have established a breeding program that is based on maintaining the Australian Shepherd breed. Our intent is to provide healthy puppies that conform to the AKC standard and have friendly, loving dispositions. Each puppy will be raised in our home following the Puppy Culture program.
